BACKGROUND
Susan grew up in Wisconsin before enlisting in the Air Force. Following her service, she charted a career within USA Petroleum and later transitioned to Atlantic Richfield/ARCO as a representative for franchise and convenience store owners. Transitioning from the corporate world, she earned a master’s degree from the United Theological Seminary.
In her capacity as a World Religions instructor at Ozarks Technical Community College, she has dedicated the past 25 years to sharing her expertise with students. Besides her other contributions, American InterContinental University also benefits from her considerable skills in communications, where she serves as an instructor, sharing her expertise with students.
Susan explored human thought, existential questions of moral, ethical, and religious ideals. Her exploration was not limited to an ancient world but to the parallels in modern society and culture with implications for the future. Her teaching style inspired her own reflections and sparked a flame, which grew into the world of writing.
Susan's commitment extends beyond academics and serves as an active member of the Vietnam and Ozarks Veterans Coalition, where she served as Chaplain and current Secretary, helping veteran families in need. She is also a Women’s Legion Post 1214 member with dedication to service.

I am glad I took this class. I learned so much about religion and why people believe in what they do. I thought I wouldn’t be able to comprehend this class but I am so glad Prof. Phillips made it an easy process.
